Brita Åsbrink is a Swedish journalist and author of the book called ”Ludvig Nobel: Petroleum Has a Bright Future”, published 2001. The book was translated in to Russian in 2003.

Her interest on the subject was lit up when she worked as a regional reporting delegate of the International Red Cross/Red Crescent in Southern Caucasus, based in Baku, during 1997. At the same time she also did some research on the Brothers Nobel Petroleum Production Company, which expanded into an industrial empire, created by Robert and Ludvig Nobel. This Company was later nationalized by the Bolsheviks in 1918.

Åsbrink has also produced a Swedish TV documentary called ”Red Sun Over the Nobel Oil Fields”, commemorating the first century of the Nobel Prize established in 1901.
